A. Acupuncture is a natural form of medicine that has evolved over thousands of years and tested true through modern methods for the treatment and management of many health concerns.
Q. How does it work?
A. Acupuncture is a tool for enhancing the body's inherent healing abilities by facilitating balance within its own physiological functions.
Small, thin, single-use sterile needles are incorporated with complex diagnostic teschniques to achieve healing results.
The needles are inserted at various points on the body that are located along meridians or "channels" of energy that have been studies and established by the foundations of traditional Chinese medicine. These channels of energy correspond to various physiological systems within the body.
From a Chinese Medical perspective, pain and disease are considered imbalance. Acupuncture helps to restore natural, healthy balance and well-being.

WAXING
At Kiki's Spa, waxing is just as much an aesthetic procedure as it is a solution for those who are bothered by excess hair. Natural facial hair is often unsightly or embarrassing and shaving can make it grow back coarser and thicker. Waxing is not a permanent solution to unwanted hair, but since the hair is removed at the root it grows back much slower.
Many clients find that hair in areas that are waxed frequently is less dense and coarse
and the skin is much smoother.
How Does Waxing Work:
Waxing is a simple procedure that weakens the hair root and slows the growth pattern. At Kiki's Spa, we use high quality, specially-blended professional aesthetic wax that is applied to the area where hair is to be removed. Heat from the melted wax as well as special pre-treatment cleansers and solutions open pores and the hair comes off easily and comfortably. We can remove large areas of unwanted or excessive hair gently and effectively, in one session, for instant results.
Before Waxing:
- Hair must be at least 1/4 inch long to ensure that the wax adheres adequately.
- Do not moisturize the area to be waxed that day.
- Use a loofah or body brush on a regular basis before waxing and between appointments to help exfoliate skin. This helps prevent ingrown hairs.
- If skin is extra sensitive, or larger areas of hair are going to be removed, we carry a topical numbing cream to make your waxing experience easier. The cream should be applied at least 30 mins prior to your service.
After Waxing:
- Do not use prescription/irritating skin care products for a couple days on waxed areas
- Avoid excessive heat and sun. Waxing exfoliates the dead skin layer causing skin to be more sensitive to sunburn.
- Avoid hot tubs and salt water that can irritate freshly waxed skin
